“From every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages…” Revelation 7:9–17
We share a common beginning: life on this side of heaven. Along the way, opportunities and challenges reveal our strengths, weaknesses, interests, and abilities, helping us use each one with greater purpose.
As life unfolds, we make choices. The sources we trust—and the people, moments, and settings through which information reaches us—shape what we believe and how we live it out.
Our journey is shaped by our responses to expectations and disappointments, anticipation and change, joy and sorrow, success and failure. Although we cannot avoid life’s realities, we can choose the voices that influence our thoughts and guide our actions.
Many influences help form our perspective, including:
Each influence carries a perspective. We choose which views to accept, knowing they will shape how we think, decide, and live.
Choose your influences carefully. In a world shaped by instant gratification and advanced technology, be still. Learn to recognize God’s voice and listen as He reveals Himself to you. He desires a relationship with you.
God invites you to discover His unique purpose for your life by allowing His truth to shape your motives and guide your decisions. Will you listen to Him?
Our lives do not end on this side of heaven; God’s purpose for us extends into eternity. What He begins in us now, He will complete there, where an extraordinary journey beyond imagination awaits those who trust Him.
Considering your life today, have you thought about the eternity that awaits you? The answer depends on where your hope and belief rest at your final breath.
Jesus invites each of us to respond to Him—a decision that reaches beyond this life and into eternity. In that light, we are not so different after all.
